Rain Water Harvesting

Project Brief 

Main Objective:  To source and construct a water harvesting structure at the Bridle Path Allotment

Aims
 i) purchase and construct the structure within budget (£600)  ii) retro fit first structure with a first flush / leaf diverter

Survey

Bridle Path Allotment does not have any piped water. All of the plot holders collect and use rain water for their food growing.

The Bridle Path Allotment were donated x4 1,500 litre water storage tanks by Thames Water. Structure one was built by some of the allotment society members (see right for pictures)

The first structure has a 2m x 5.5 m roof (11 square meters). With two tanks to collect the rainfall which lands on the roof.
